Step & Connect is back! Bologna for Talent's themed walking tours are designed for people who have recently started a new job in the Bologna metropolitan area and want to get to know the city, meet new people and build connections beyond the workplace.
The two upcoming events will explore two different sides of Bologna: its musical heritage and its history of water and silk. The first tour will be held in English, the second in Italian. If you've recently started a new job in the Bologna metropolitan area, you can sign up for whichever tour interests you most, or join both!
Bologna City of Music
Saturday, November 21, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM | Tour in English, in collaboration with Bologna Welcome
Starting from Piazza del Nettuno, we'll explore Bologna's musical identity as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, discovering its traditions, contemporary culture, digital innovation and creative industries.
Highlights along the route include the Sala della Musica at Salaborsa, Casa Dalla, the Jazz Street, the International Museum and Library of Music, Musixmatch, the Conservatory and Teatro Verdi.
Bologna's Water and Silk
Saturday, November 28, 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM | Tour in Italian, in collaboration with Canali di Bologna
A walk through Bologna's historic centre, tracing the waterways, silk-making traditions and technological innovations that helped the city gain international prominence from the 15th century onwards. The route will take us from the Finestrella di via Piella to the Canale delle Moline, from the Canale di Reno to the Manifattura delle Arti.
Back then, skilled professionals came to Bologna from across Europe, drawn by its cutting-edge production system. Today, talented people arrive from all over Italy and the world. History repeats itself, in new ways.
And after the tour? Aperitivo and networking!
Both walks will end with an aperitivo and informal networking: a chance to get to know each other better.

- Who can join: Italian and international professionals who have recently started a new job at a company or organisation in the Bologna metropolitan area.
- Participation: free of charge, with registration required via Eventbrite. You can sign up for either tour or both.
